2016 IGA Tournament Expenses Explained…

Recently the IGA sent a survey to those golfers who had competed in an IGA Championship in 2015 and/or 2016. Thank you to those who responded. Your feedback will help us improve our championships.

 

A fairly consistent theme in the feedback was that the entry fees are too high and amenities (including merchandise payouts) are too low.

2016 Women’s InterClub Matches End With a Bang

The 2016 IGA Women’s InterClub Matches had 18 teams competing within three divisions.  The competition consisted of four-ball matches with gross and net Nassau scoring. Five rounds of matches were contested throughout the summer at BanBury Golf Course, Purple Sage Golf Course, McCall Golf Course, Centennial Golf Course and Quail Hollow Golf Course.

Team Idaho Misses Cut by Two Strokes at USGA Men’s State Team

The USGA Men’s State Team Championship was conducted at the Country Club of Birmingham September 28-30. Team Idaho was welcomed to the club with open arms from the Birmingham, Alabama natives. After round one, Jesse Hibler finished at one over par which placed him in the top 20 individually.

BSU’s Byers and Rorhbaugh Qualify for 2017 U.S. Amateur Four-Ball

Monday, September 19, the U.S. Amateur Four-Ball qualifier was held at Falcon Crest Golf Club. The one team that will advance to the championship will play Pinehurst Resort & Country Club in the Village of Pinehurst, N.C. May 27-31, 2017. The dynamic duo of Jacob Byers and Tristan Rorhbugh made the turn at seven under par, and managed to continue the trend throughout the rest of the round.

2016 USGA Men’s State Team Set

Justin McAfee will make his first appearance at a USGA Championship. Justin won the 2015 Labor Day Caldwell Amateur and finished fourth in the IGA Tournament of Champions. In 2016, he was a finalist in the Idaho Mens Match Play Championship.

Wade Qualifies for U.S. Senior Amateur to be Hosted at Old Warson Country Club

Ken Wade of Kennewick, WA qualified for the U.S. Senior Amateur Championship through the qualifier held at Whitetail Club Monday, August 22. Ken birdied three holes on the back nine to drop his score to two under par, 69 beating the field by five strokes.
