IGA Championships just around the corner:

Entries are open for all IGA Championships. Use this link to enter online or print a paper entry and send it to the IGA office.

The early championships include:

IGA Four-Ball
May 20-21, Shadow Valley Golf Course
Three Divisions: Men’s Division, Senior Men’s Division (55 or older), Women’s Division
Entry Fee $100 per player ($200 per team)
Deadline:  May 15
Flighted at close of entries, Gross & Net merchandise payout

IGA Match Play @ TimberStone
Memorial Day Weekend, May 27-29
Three Divisions:  Men’s Division, Senior Men’s Division (55 or older), Women’s Division
Entry Fee $150 per player
Deadline:  May 22
Flighted within division by handicap, players seeded into bracket by handicap, gross only matches, consolation brackets (guaranteed 2 matches), merchandise payout for 1st & 2nd place in each bracket.

Remembering Bob Saxvik, past President of the IGA

Robert W Saxvik passed away October 18, 2016 at his home in Portland, OR. Bob served on the first Board of Directors of the Idaho Golf Association which was established in 1969. Saxvik represented District 2, living in Burley at the time working as vice president and general manager of KBAR Radio.

IGA Board of Director, application deadline:  December 31.

The IGA Board of Directors is comprised of 12 members, nine District Directors (three from each of the three IGA districts) and three At Large Directors. Board members serve three year terms and are elected by the membership at the Spring District meetings (a spring meeting is held in each district).

2016 IGA Tournament Expenses Explained…

Recently the IGA sent a survey to those golfers who had competed in an IGA Championship in 2015 and/or 2016. Thank you to those who responded. Your feedback will help us improve our championships.

 

A fairly consistent theme in the feedback was that the entry fees are too high and amenities (including merchandise payouts) are too low.

Score Posting: The posting season for rounds played at IGA member clubs/courses is March 1 through November 14. If you play during the inactive season of November 15 through February 28 at Idaho courses, those scores are not acceptable for posting.
