IGA Announces Team for 2018 PNGA Cup

Boise, Idaho – The Idaho Golf Association (IGA) announced today its selection for the 2018 PNGA Cup hosted by Seattle Golf Club May 2-4 in Seattle, WA. Team Idaho is the reigning champion of the event having captured the Cup for the first time in its twelve year history last year at TimberStone GC in Caldwell, ID. 2018 Captain and current IGA President Jennifer Swindell stated “Our team is loaded with talented veterans who I am confident will defend our title”. Swindell was on hand in 2017 to witness Idaho’s historic win and looks forward to a tremendous event in 2018. Idaho will compete against Washington, Oregon, and British Columbia in the Ryder Cup style event. Teams are comprised of Mid-Amateur men and women as well as Senior Amateur men and women. Eight men and four women comprise each team.
The PNGA is a 501(c)(3) charitable, international, amateur golf association dedicated to preserving the true spirit of golf by supporting its allied associations, conducting quality championships, and promoting activities beneficial to golfers in the Pacific Northwest.
The Idaho Golf Association (IGA) is a 501 (C)(7) non-profit organization founded in 1969 with the goal of being an all-encompassing umbrella organization for amateur golf in Idaho. The mission of the IGA is to promote the best interest of amateur golf, by providing course rating and handicapping service to member clubs, conducting championships, providing playing opportunities for members, education, and protecting the spirit of the game. The IGA is comprised of approximately 16,000 members and approximately 90 member clubs.
The IGA is governed by a Board of Directors comprised of twelve men and women who serve three year terms. Operations are administered by four full-time employees and USGA P.J. Boatwright Interns. Sixteen state championships and various USGA qualifiers are conducted each year in addition to over 40 events on the IGA Junior Tour schedule.
