Federal Way, Wash. – In the May 2017 issue of Pacific Northwest Golfer magazine, the par-3 12th hole at Ridgecrest Golf Club in Nampa, Idaho is recognized as one of the “Great Holes of the Northwest,” one of just four holes selected each year by the Northwest’s largest and longest-running golf publication.

With seven different teeing areas cut into the side of a cliff, all sitting at least 100 feet above the green, this par-3 has multiple angles and elevations from which to play. There is water everywhere around this peninsula green, but a nest of four bunkers in the back and to the right will catch an errant tee shot, and there is also a bailout area to the left.

The club has been the site of numerous local and regional championships, including the Idaho Open and qualifiers for the Albertsons Boise Open. Ridgecrest will host the 2017 Idaho Women’s Amateur State Championship on July 20-22.

Designed by John Harbottle III, Ridgecrest is a municipal course owned by the city of Nampa. It opened in 1996 and consistently receives an annual four-star rating by Golf Digest. Visit www.ridgecrestgolf.com for information.

With a direct-mailed circulation of 123,000 households, Pacific Northwest Golfer magazine has been the voice of golf in the Northwest for over 20 years. It is the only Northwest golf publication with a verifiable demographic of its readership. Pacific Northwest Golfer is all about golf, and dedicated to golfers, and is the model by which other regional golf publications have used. It is the official magazine of the British Columbia, Idaho, Oregon, Washington State and Pacific Northwest golf associations, as well as the Pacific Northwest Section PGA. Published by the Pacific Northwest Golf Association, a 501c3 charitable international amateur golf association, Pacific Northwest Golfer is a member benefit delivered to member clubs in British Columbia and to those who utilize the USGA GHIN Handicap System through member clubs, either public or private.
