USGA Junior Qualifiers Conducted at TimberStone

Monday, June 19 two United States Golf Association qualifiers were conducted at TimberStone Golf Course in Caldwell, ID. 

Twenty six girls were competing for two spots for the U.S. Girls’ Junior Championship, while twenty four boys were looking for that one spot to play in the U.S. Junior Amateur Championship.  

Amelia McKee from Spring, TX set the bar high early on with her four under par, 68. Andrea Gomez from Mexico and Samantha Yi of San Diego, Calif. tied at even par 72, and ended up in a playoff to battle for the second spot to the championship proper. Andrea Gomez made par on the first hole to secure her spot at Boone Valley Golf Club in Augusta, Mo., which is scheduled for July 24-29. Samantha Yi was the first alternate, and Dahye Choi of Canada shot a one over par 73 for second alternate.

2017 U.S. Junior Amateur Qualifier

Boise State Men’s Golf commit, Skyler Eubank, qualifies for U.S. Junior Amateur Championship. Flint Hills National Golf Club, in Andover, Kan., has been selected by the United States Golf Association as the host site for the 2017 U.S. Junior Amateur Championship. The dates for the championship, which will be the third USGA championship hosted by Flint Hills National, are July 17-22.

There was a three way playoff that ended on the first hole with Sam Tidd making birdie (first alternate), Jeevan Sihota making par (second alternate).
